15 months

Payton had her 15 month check-up this morning. She weighed 26 Ib 4 oz (90th percentile), and is 32.5 inches long (95th percentile)! Her head circumference is still off the charts, at the 100th percentile. Go figure :) She has officially figured out walking, and is ALL over the place, all the time. It's so cute and fun to watch though! She looks like a little girl when she's walking around, not my little baby. She says about six words other than mama and dada, "up, ball, uh-oh, hi, bye" etc. She hasn't been feeling good lately unfortunately, she is teething, has a cold, and also has a double ear infection. This means a clingy, fussy baby. I've felt so bad for her, and hopefully after a couple days of the antibiotics she will start to feel much better. She hasn't liked us to brush her teeth or look in her mouth, but when I have gotten to peek in there I've noticed at least 3 or 4 new teeth, so it seems like they're sprouting up all at once. I so wish I could take all of her pain away!

A couple weeks ago Payton also had an eye check-up at OHSU with her opthamologist. It was pretty short, he just asked how she was doing with the glasses, and I said great; he said great, see you in six months. We made it worth going up to Portland though, we visited my old friends from work, and also Wee Care. They were all really excited to see Payton, and couldn't believe how big she'd gotten. It was fun to see all the babies that I used to see everyday, they all looked so much bigger too. I always enjoy visiting with my friends, I miss them a lot; but it sure was nice to leave the craziness of Portland again when the day was over.

These last few weeks, as most of you know, have been really tough. It's been hard for me to blog quite honestly, because I know how much my grandma enjoyed it. I know she's not the only one that read it, but she always commented on every post, and whenever I saw her, she was so excited to talk about my blog, and what Payton was doing and how much she enjoyed the pictures. I loved reading her comments, and I really miss them. It is just so weird that she won't ever read my blog again, and so I just didn't want to write one. I know that I need to though, as there are still people that want to be updated on what Payton is doing. It's been a long time since I posted some pics of Paytie (a possible nickname maybe??), but I'm going to head off to bed. My poor grumpy (but sweet!) baby wore me out! I PROMISE to post some pictures for you to enjoy soon :) Goodnight all!

  1. Glad you posted. It keeps me up-to-date on Payton since we don't see her all the time.

I had the same thoughts regarding my blog and was going to write the final chapter of "The Next Chapter in the Book" but YOU convinced me to keep publishing.

    Kisses to Payton!

  2. I'm Happy you are still going to blog. Have so enjoyed and look forward to each blog. Haven't posted much because I couldn't get the comments to post!! Think finally figured it out,(if this goes through). Anxious to see Payton walk, she isn't a baby any more, she is our precious little girl.

  3. So glad you were able to put up another blog. At our house McKenna and I yell across the house, "JENNA UPDATED HER BLOG!" and the other one responds, "OH COOL!!!!" I too enjoyed reading what your Grandmother would write. I think she would be thrilled that you are pushing forward and will continue to write. In a way it honors her, as she was the epitome of strength, pushing on and good spirits throughout the journey.

I must say Payton's head circumference is surely the sign of housing a giant brain :) You watch...her school scores will be "off the chart" one day.

Glad you had a fun visit while up in Portland. Pretty fun to see her classmates growing, isn't it?

I hope the antibiotics have kicked in and Payton is on the mend. Looking foward to seeing her walking, talking and flashing big toothy smiles.

I am really enjoying this part of your life. It gives us somthing in common. My aunt and I swap stories all the time. To hear her talk you would think my cousin is a little boy...he's in his 50's. Once a Mom, always a Mom and you can have a conversation anywhere in the world.

I love you sweet niece. You keep hanging in there.
