New house pics
So I realized that most of you guys haven't seen our new house, so I thought I would post some pictures... it will be like a personal tour! We haven't found a rug yet for downstairs, we have some options that we liked but decided to think about it because those things are not cheap!
Kitchen
Dining room... it's an open concept downstairs, so the kitchen, dining room and living room are all one big room.
Living room, I bought little sconces with candles to go on either side of the TV, we just haven't put them up yet...
I put some wedding pictures on the wall that leads upstairs...
Master bedroom
Our super full closet!
We're using this as a bonus room, complete with...
...entertainment center!
Guest bedroom
And last but not least...
Me! :) I hope you all have a great weekend coming up, I can't believe it's already May! Kyle has his first civil war reenactment of the season this weekend in Lebanon (for you Washingtonians: not the country, it's a town by Albany!), and Sunday is Bryan's birthday so we're going to stop in Albany on our way home to say hello. Hopefully the weather is good for the boys!

Lazy weekend
We had a great weekend, just relaxing and getting caught up on sleep. You know how much I love my sleep! :) Kyle got to go golfing two days in a row, so he's totally in heaven. He surprised me last night and took me out to a nice dinner at the Portland City Grill, which is the place that he took me the night that he proposed almost two years ago. It's on the 30th floor of a building downtown by the waterfront, and the sides are all windows, so the view is amazing. It was fun to get dressed up and have a nice date night, and we finished the night by going to see a movie.
Today we're going to go finally pick out some rugs for our downstairs living room and dining room, and hopefully a few more things to hang on the wall. We'll have this place looking like a home in no time! :)

My first blog
Hello everyone! I thought this would be a creative and fun way to keep everyone updated with our lives. We are still settling into our new house, all the furniture and stuff is in here, now it's just decorating it and making it ours. We've just been enjoying being able to come home and relax; it's still hard to realize that this house is ours! Plus, the weather here has been beautiful lately, and so we've been doing a lot of BBQing with our new grill. Yummy!
My annual evaluation for work is almost here, and I can't believe I've been out of school for almost a year already. Time has really flown, this has been such a momentous year for us! Kyle has decided to go back to school to get his master's in teaching, and we're both really excited about it. He's always wanted to teach, and now has just presented as the perfect time to go back to school. He's going to apply this summer, and if he's accepted he'll be starting school in August! He's decided to apply to the part-time degree program at Concordia University in Portland, which means that he will finish in 22 months. His classes will be 1-2 nights per week, with occasional classes on the weekends and online. He decided to do part-time so that he can work at the same time, so he'll be pretty busy. Please be thinking good thoughts and prayers about him applying to grad school, and I'll keep you posted. :)
This weekend is one of the first free weekends that Kyle and I have had in a long time, so we're looking forward to just relaxing and getting stuff done around the house. Oh yeah, and go Blazers!
